Gaucho Gaucho is a fantastic documentary set in Argentina’s drought-stricken northwestern cattle country. The film portrays the daily lives and enduring traditions of gauchos, who preserve centuries-old traditions of horsemanship, community, and resilience in the face of a changing landscape.
The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it won a Special Jury Prize for Sound. It was later screened outdoors at the 77th Locarno Film Festival on the Piazza Grande, where it received the inaugural Letterboxd Piazza Grande Award.
